In general, hygiene means cleanliness and such working methods that promote good hygiene.

In the food industry, hygiene is an important way of preventing the spreading of diseases via foodstuffs. In other words, good hygiene practices can help to prevent illnesses.

During the training you will learn about the risks involved in foodstuffs and in their handling. You will also learn how to avoid the risks. The law requires that every food worker knows how to work using hygienic methods.

You have to have a hygiene passport if your work involves handling easily perishable foodstuffs. The hygiene passport is a proof of your abilities to work properly in a food industry job. It is an easy way to prove your competence to your employer.
